KIRKPATRICK & PORCH CREATIVE is a creative services firm headed by Marlo Kirkpatrick and Alecia Porch, two experienced professionals who’ve put a new twist on the old model of an advertising agency.

We knew from day one that we wanted to handle the fun part of the business – engaging with our clients, coming up with great ideas, and turning those ideas into realities – ourselves. When you hire Kirkpatrick & Porch Creative, you actually get Marlo Kirkpatrick and Alecia Porch – not a junior level team handed your project once the business has been won.

As your project leaders, Marlo and Alecia then select and supervise a team of photographers, film directors and editors, web and social media experts, and media planners, all hand-picked for each client based on the specific demands of each project. And just like Marlo and Alecia, every member of the team working on your business is a seasoned professional.

Because we work with experienced, independent contractors instead of hiring employees, our clients pay only for work actually done on their behalf, not for ongoing overhead. And our award-winning work and bottom line results are proof that it’s not the number of people who work on an account, but the caliber of people we put to work on each project that makes the difference.

Marlo Kirkpatrick

Project Manager/Writer

Marlo Kirkpatrick is a storyteller whose work evokes emotions from humor to sorrow, excitement to frustration, and uses those emotions to move audiences to action.

A graduate of the University of Mississippi, Marlo has headed her own creative services business since 1995, and brings extensive experience in brand development and advertising that generate bottom line results. She has managed individual project budgets and annual marketing budgets ranging from less than $25,000 to more than $600,000, consistently demonstrating strong stewardship of client funds. Marlo has won more than 300 local, regional, and national awards for creative excellence, including recognition as the Jackson Advertising Federation’s Writer of the Year five times. The Mississippi Business Journal has named Marlo one of the Top 50 Business Women in Mississippi (2017) and one of the Top Entrepreneurs in Mississippi (2020).

Marlo is the author of several award-winning books, including Mississippi Off the Beaten Path, It Happened in Mississippi, Sanctuary, Lost in the Amazon, Romancing the Rain, and Wilder Mississippi

When she’s not in the office, Marlo enjoys adventure travel to destinations ranging from the Amazon rainforest to the coral reefs of the Caribbean and the deserts of the Middle East. She and her husband, wildlife photographer Stephen Kirkpatrick, fell in love on an expedition to the Peruvian Amazon, and returned to Peru for their wedding ceremony at Machu Picchu. On a recent trip back to the rainforest, Marlo complained of snakes under her bed and roaches on her toothbrush. Stephen told her she was “just too high maintenance.”

Alecia Porch

Graphic Designer/Art Director

Alecia Porch is an experienced designer with a 25-year track record in creating marketing materials for a high-end audience. Alecia combines outstanding design skills and creativity with a thorough understanding of brand development, resulting in work that’s not only eye-catching, but that also generates measurable results.

In addition to her brand development and design work, Alecia chooses and directs the activities of photographers, illustrators, and production and printing specialists. Her careful attention to detail results in a superior, powerful, and effective end product. Alecia’s long list of awards for creative excellence includes recognition as the Jackson Advertising Federation’s Art Director of the Year or Designer of the Year 10 times.

Alecia’s competitive nature came in handy when she ruled the courts as a college basketball and tennis player. Today, she still has a mean backhand, but also makes time for more laid-back activities, including yoga, bird-watching, and hanging out with her husband Bill, daughter Mia, and the family dogs.

As a child growing up along the Gulf of Mexico and the bayous of Louisiana, Alecia treasured her extensive turtle collection, and she remains an avid nature lover. Other passions include browsing art galleries and travel. Alecia’s favorite U.S. destinations include Taos, New Mexico (snow skiing), New Orleans, Louisiana (culinary indulgence), Seaside, Florida (hammock swinging), and the Na Pali Coast, Hawaii (hiking to breathtaking views).
